About The Phoenix Music Hall

The Phoenix Music Hall hosts a wide variety of musical offerings, from indie folk to chamber music, electronic/experimental, jazz ensembles and singer/songwriters. We have a professional JBL club system and the space has been acoustically attenuated so the sound is crisp and bright, with delicious natural room reverb even without any amplification—our1929 Steinway M-series baby grand piano sounds sublime in our high-ceilinged space. We want every show you experience at The Phoenix to be a lovely mix of great sound and close-to-the-performers-intimacy, magically lit. We have hosted performances by Helen Gillet, William Lee Ellis, Ben Hall & Lemuel Marc, the Ras Moshe Trio, Toussaint St. Negritude, Jake Meginsky, Cricket Blue, and Michael Chorney’s new bands, Edna and Freeway Clyde.
The Phoenix is the official home venue for TURNmusic. Directed by Anne Decker, this non-profit has put on some of the most dynamic performances in the state, many of which were hosted at The FlynnSpace in downtown Burlington, as well as ArtsRiot and elsewhere. The music calendar at The Phoenix is co-curated by Joseph Pensak (director/curator/co-owner of The Phoenix) and TURNmusic and we look forward to creating more unforgettable musical memories together in this space in the center of Waterbury Village!
